What We Don't Collect

💾

What We Store (Locally Only)

All your preferences are saved to your device using Chrome's built-in storage API. We don't upload your settings to any developer servers.

Your settings are stored locally in your browser. We do not send data to developer servers. Some optional settings pages may use Chrome sync storage if available.

🔑

Permissions Explained

We request only the minimum permissions required to function:

📦
Storage
Save your settings and preferences to your device
🔍
Search
Use Chrome's built-in search API for Spotlight search
🏠
New Tab Override
Replace the default new tab page with GNT: Glass New Tab – iOS Style Dashboard
📍
Geolocation (optional)
GPS for weather — only when you enable it; Chrome asks for your consent

No access to your browsing history, tabs, bookmarks, downloads, or any other browser data. If you enable GPS for weather, coordinates are used to fetch weather and may be temporarily cached on your device (rounded) to reduce repeated requests. We do not transmit this data to our own servers (we don't have servers).

🌐

Third-Party Services

Some optional features connect directly from your browser to these services. We act as a transparent pass-through — no data touches our infrastructure.

🌤️
Weather Data
If you enable weather, your location (city name or coordinates) is sent directly from your browser to fetch forecasts. No API keys are shared with us.
Open-Meteo WeatherAPI
📍
Reverse Geocoding
When GPS is enabled, coordinates are converted to a city name using geocoding APIs — directly from your browser, not through us.
BigDataCloud Nominatim (OpenStreetMap)
🔍
Search
Search queries go directly to your default search engine in Chrome. We cannot see, intercept, or log what you search.
🖼️
Site Icons (Favicons)
To display site icons, the extension may load icons from the website itself (e.g., /favicon.ico). If an icon isn’t available, the extension may fall back to public favicon/icon services to improve reliability. These requests go directly from your browser to the provider.
DuckDuckGo Icons Google Favicon Service Google Static (gstatic)
🌄
Random Wallpapers (Optional)
If you choose a random wallpaper, the image is loaded directly from a third-party image provider (your IP address is visible to them as with any web request). You can also upload your own wallpaper to keep everything local.
