GNT: Glass New Tab - iOS Style Dashboard is built with privacy as its foundation. We do not track or transmit your personal information to any developer servers (we don't have servers). Your settings are stored locally in your browser.
What We Don't Collect
- No personal data is collected by us — we don’t receive your name, notes, or precise location
- No browsing history — we can't see what sites you visit
- No search queries — searches go directly to your chosen engine
- No analytics or tracking — zero telemetry, zero cookies
- No advertising — no ads, no ad networks, no monetization of your data
- No third-party SDKs — no Google Analytics, no Firebase, nothing
What We Store (Locally Only)
All your preferences are saved to your device using Chrome's built-in storage API. We don't upload your settings to any developer servers.
- Theme & accent color — your visual preferences
- Wallpaper — stored locally (uploaded images are saved as a data URL; optional random wallpapers can be saved as an HTTPS image URL)
- Todo items & sticky notes — kept in local storage only
- Custom dock apps & shortcuts — your personalized layout
- Weather location — if you manually enter a city (if GPS is enabled, only a rounded location cache may be stored locally)
- Weather API key (optional) — if you enter one, it’s stored locally so weather can work
- Clock, search & display settings — all your customizations
Your settings are stored locally in your browser. We do not send data to developer servers. Some optional settings pages may use Chrome sync storage if available.
Permissions Explained
We request only the minimum permissions required to function:
No access to your browsing history, tabs, bookmarks, downloads, or any other browser data. If you enable GPS for weather, coordinates are used to fetch weather and may be temporarily cached on your device (rounded) to reduce repeated requests. We do not transmit this data to our own servers (we don't have servers).
Third-Party Services
Some optional features connect directly from your browser to these services. We act as a transparent pass-through — no data touches our infrastructure.

Your Data, Your Control
- Export your data — backup all settings as a JSON file anytime
- Import your data — restore from a previous backup
- Reset everything — one-click reset wipes all local data completely
- Uninstall — removing the extension deletes all stored data permanently

If this privacy policy changes, we will update this page and include details in the extension's update notes on the Chrome Web Store. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
